Just recently during one of those events where Texan Governor Rick Perry was invited, he was asked a question that has kept on haunting him since July, the question having to do with the whereabouts of Freedom and Liberty –Perry’s signature cowboy boots.
The question was asked while Perry was at the Fainting Goat restaurant. The governor answered that the cowboy boots were on the bus. Perry later on added that he has chosen to wear ropers because leather boots get cold sometimes. Perry rarely appears on television or in front of his supporters without Freedom and Liberty. He reportedly switched footwear after his back surgery in July of 2011 though so this could be the real reason why the cowboy boots aren’t being worn by the governor anymore.
During the interview however, Perry added that the bottoms of his ropers are rather thick and said that he likes the extra insulation and cushion while in Iowa. He further said that leather boots get cold and admitted that he learned quite a few things while in Iowa. Leather indeed gets cold and can make your feet uncomfortable especially when you do not wear socks. For those who would like to wear leather cowboy boots during wintertime, it is best to make sure that your feet are kept warm. It is interesting to note that Perry was wearing black Justin Ropers during this particular interview and what is more interesting to voters is that they only cost $70. Unlike other president-wannabes, Perry may be one of the most tight-fisted –a good indication that he is more levelheaded than others for not choosing expensive stuff. Although Perry later on got an onslaught of criticism after several blunders on TV, the Texan governor remains popular among his constituents because he is deemed as the only person who might be able to give the USA the change that it needs.

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa — The rather popular cowboy boots worn by Rick Perry in one interview has made it to the coffee blend market. Yes you got that right, coffee blend. The boots that usually make an appearance on Perry’s campaign trail are now celebrities in their own right. Kicking their way into the world of coffee blends, it seems that Rick Perry’s boots will be more popular than Rick Perry himself, sources say.
A coffee shop in Clear Lake, Iowa reportedly named a coffee drink after Freedom and Liberty –Rick Perry’s boots.
The Cabin Coffee Company got a lot of media attention when it started selling a 100 percent Arabica blend called Freedom & Liberty. The blend was described by patrons as a rich and smooth drink, medium bodied and has smokey undertones. It was also described as a drink that has sparkling acidity by those who have tasted the coffee.
The owner of Cabin Coffee Co. Brad Barber reportedly presented Republican Rick Perry with a generous amount of coffee during an event that the governor attended.
Want to learn more about the boots? Well Perry’s custom made Freedom and Liberty are brown ostrich cowboy boots dating back to 2001. These cowboy boots as mentioned before were inspired by what happened on the fateful day of September 11. The pair was made in June, Perry said in an interview and also recounted that when the bootmaker called what he wanted on the cowboy boots, he told them that he will give them a callback since he was at a loss for ideas. Due to what happened to the World Trade Center and the devastation in the area that happened in September that year, Perry realized that he wanted to put the American flag as an embellishment to the cowboy boots, each with a different name. Since Perry is a true blue American, he gave the left one the name Liberty and the right one Freedom. Perry admits that the 10-year-old pair of boots have been re-soled quite a few times but he still wears them a lot.

Cowboy Boots Are Like Slippers
Cowboy boots are like slippers said one fashion director in an interview and nope we aren’t kidding. His name is Hal Rubenstein and he showed how easily he can slip off his boots.
Indeed, cowboy boots are like slippers because they are quite comfortable and one can wear them just about anywhere. For those who have flat feet, wearing cowboy boots is your best bet –forget about those medically recommended slippers that are rubberized!
Apart from being quite comfortable, cowboy boots are also very alluring thanks to the stitches and all that craftsmanship. This is only true when it comes to well-made boots and not those that are mass produced. There are however a number of mass produced brands that offer very nice designs i.e. Justin.
Buying his first cowboy boots at the age of 17, Mr. Rubenstein and his partner have already collected around 50 pairs, according to Chron.com.
A fashion director liking cowboy boots should not only be the reason for you to buy them though but this is a good thing because the fashion industry is a big influence.
For those who haven’t bought their first pair yet, it would be best to take a look your size first because different sizes apply for cowboy boots. Getting the right size is of course important because you won’t feel comfortable if you get the wrong size. We know that you know this already but we are just mentioning it so you do not forget.
In Clear Lake, Iowa, there is more good news for cowboy boot enthusiasts because Coffee Blend just named a new drink based on Rick Perry’s 9-11 cowboy boots. The blend is called Freedom and Liberty Blend. This is of course only sold at the Cabin Coffee Company.
The brown ostrich boots made for Perry dates back to 2001 and were inspired by what happened on September 11.
