Wearing cowboy boots is not just a fashion statement but a lifestyle. Some people would say that wearing cowboy boots depends on your outfit but really, you can wear cowboy boots with anything, it is just a matter of you having an open mind. With this, one can say that you can even wear those comfortable cowboy boots with your wedding dress if you like since no one, not even the fashion industry, should stop you from wearing the shoes you are comfortable wearing.
This specific type of riding boot however was historically worn by cowboys only but today, non-cowboys and non-cowgirls can wear a pair of cowboy boots without being called a cowboy or a cowgirl. Many still associate cowboy boots with the country though but some city folks have already incorporated country style with big city fashion. Cities like L.A. for example has seen a renewed interest in cowboy boots especially since a lot of celebrities are wearing them even in the middle of summer. Now don’t go bashing them because they might have sweaty and smelly feet! Cowboy boots are just so fashionable that you can wear them just about anywhere and under any type of weather condition.
There are two kinds of cowboy boots –the western style more popularly known as classic cowboy boots and the roper, the riding boots used by those who join the rodeo.
Classic cowboy boots are distinguished by their tall shaft while the roper has a shorter boot shaft.
For those who would like to know a bit of history about these rather interesting shoes, one should know that boots are important both for riders and cowboys. For centuries, riding boots are deemed to be very important for equestrian life while the cowboy boots we know today were and still are important for ranch life.
