by MA 10/30/2008 1:53:00 PM

Justin has been famous for their roper boots for as long as I can remember and this little boot, Justin 3112 is the cream of the crop! The ropers are popular for their shoe heighth heels and yes they are great looking with dress pants. My husband was a presenter at the Addi Awards not too long ago and he was worried about footwear to go with his tux. You guuessed it he ended up wearing the tried and true Black Lizard ropers. These boots are available in a variety of widths, B, D, E, and EE and they are single stitched with a J-flex comfort system. Made in the USA!

by MA 10/30/2008 1:11:00 PM

What a fancy boot and a real attention getter! Take a look at this Nocona Boot 204731403. This is a natural belly-cut python and they have a 13" Black deertan top. This boot has a western dress heel and a traditional r-toe. This exotic is identified dy its unique markings and scales. the special tanning processes give it a rich color and shine. Please be aware that this leather is limited to the amount of stretch left in the leather the other information is they are a little more high maintenance than most leathers but this leather is very soft and supple which makes up for the added care. This boot is made in the USA and it is my pick to wear with jeans! Nocona Snake Skin Boots

These boots will set you back $1,600 - But they are incredible

by JohnWayne 10/30/2008 10:45:00 AM

I typically buy all of my boots from my friends over at Boot City - but I have recently found a pair of boots that I love and Boot City does not carry them. So despite my loyalty to the good people at Boot City, I think I am going to have to buy these fantastic boots from Timsboots.com - When you see the cowboy boots in the image below you will understand what I am talking about. These boots are alligator with a Texas Lone Store front and center. Tell me what you think of these boots, should I spend $1,600 of my hard earned money on these?

Ariat boots have several comfort packages!

by MA 10/28/2008 2:05:00 PM
  •  First and Foremost is the Cobalt XR The footbed in the XR disperses shock and reduces impact. There is a molded nylon footbed with arch and heel supports. Wide composite forked shank for stability and comfort. There is a composite insert to extend support to the forefoot while maintaining flexability! The specially formulated EVA/ Rubber propulsion grid heel provides rebound and energy return.
  • There is the Cobalt which features a slatted composite insert that extends stability from mid foot to the forefoot for increased balance on the ground or in the stirrup. There is a gel insert at the forefoot and heel and a moisture wicking sock liner. the composite shank is lightweight and it does not conduct heat, cold or electricity. The precision fork shaped shank offers the ability to maintain balance and stability. The best thing is the Gel molded heel spring...this reduces stress on heels, knees, hips, and lower back. The EVA strike pad in the heel area provides extra cushioning for comfort all through the day.
  • The ATS comfort package offers a gel cushioned forefoot and the moisture wicking liner. There is a molded orthotic that supports the arch and heel. There is still a composite shank that is in the shape of a Y to offer unilateral support and cradle your feet during the day. There is a duratread outsole for outstanding durability!
  • The 4LR is the most basic comfort package available and the boots with this feature still have a cushioned footbed with a moisture wicking liner and the composite shank is wide and long to prevent metatarsal stress and helps to maintain balance.

This is the Ariat Technology in a nutshell and it is fascinating to me how much thought and technology goes into each boot this company makes! Ariat is synonymous with quality, comfort, and style!

Black Bullhide boots by Nocona

by MA 10/23/2008 1:47:00 PM

This bullhide is a woderful piece of leather, it is thicker than calf and the leather has a grain to it so if they do get scuffed it is easy to polish the scuff back out. This leather is a Spanish shrunken shoulder imported from Spain. The boot is made by Nocona and the style number is 650135403. Wheather for work or casual wear, the thickness of the leather and special tanning process creates the distinct grain effect. This cowboy boots has a medium round toe with a western dress heel and a 13 inch top . The good news is it is available in multi widths B, D EE, and EEE.

Fitting a boot... When your Cowboy boot fits just right, you will know...

by MA 10/23/2008 1:16:00 PM

How many of you remember how your heels slipped up and down when your boots were new?

When fitting a boot you want the heels to slip up and down...if they don't it's a sure sign that the boots are too small.

The heel slippage will go away after a period of time, it's just a matter of breaking your boots in and it is a 3 part process.

  • The first thing that has to happen is for you to wear them long enough for the heel counters to set to your heels...
  • then the tops have to settle and the soles need to flex. When the boots are new the sole is stiff and when you take a step the foot bends but the boot does not want to follow, therefore the heel pops up in the back. Only the real city slickers come in the Store and say"the boots fit good except they slip in the heel".
  • The ball of your foot should line up in the widest part of the sole and the end of your toe should be in about the center of the toe box...the reason for this is the leather will stretch across the instep and you need the room in the toe box area for your feet to inch forward.

You can always find a great fitting pair of boots at bootcity.com - We have king sizes
