Kate Bosworth rocks brown cowboy boots with a white sundress

by Sarah 29. April 2009 12:17

We LOVE this outfit! Kate Bosworth's style is always simple and alluring, but this outfit is especially great. The pairing of the dark brown cowboy boots looks fantastically summery with the white peasant sundress. Steal her style with these Ariat Women's Scottsdale Boots and this dress. The best part about these pieces? They can be worn again and again! They're both basic enough that they can be paired with a variety of other clothing pieces, but they stand out enough to add a little extra oomph to your day.

High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale is growing up and growing out of the Disney mold, but that doesn't mean she's leaving her favorite styles behind! She may be entering a new phase in her career, but her cowboy boots are made for walkin', and they're coming along with her! Check out the shots below, in which Ashley sports multiple kinds of sassy boots. Make like Ash in this pair, sure to brighten up any outfit.

Forget the fact that these boots were made for walkin' - Taylor's were made for stage jumping! How great does Swift look in this hilarious picture, which captures her mid-performance rocking a pair of black cowboy boots with a very sequin-y dress? I love it! Get a pair just like Taylor's here.

Tweak Tori's Outfit!

by Sarah 17. April 2009 10:35

I really love Tori Spelling's look here. It's classy but has a major air of haute hippie about it. That dress is adorable, and I like it with the black tights. What I'm not loving? The black moccassin boots. For starters, I feel like this trend is a bit overplayed. I myself have a pair, but I got them in brown instead of black, since I felt the black was ubiquitous. I think Tori's pairing of the black tights with the black boots makes the outfit a bit too matchy matchy. I'm not a fan of too much matching, especially when Tori's out and about in sunny LA - don't kid yourself, Tori, it's bright and sunny out there.

SO, I'd substitute these babies for those mocs. Why choose this pair? Well, for starters they add a bit of spice to her outfit- breaking up the genres, if you know what I mean. Now, instead of being all over boho, the outfit is a little bit of everything. A bit more eclectic, more easy style as opposed to perfectly picked out.

I also love the distressed look of these boots. There you have it! A newly styled outfit!

Trend to try: Colorful Cowboy boots!

by Sarah 9. April 2009 10:46

I love this shot of Rachel Bilson. She's taken the simple trend of cowboy boots and added her own flair with a brightly colored flair. From afar and from up close, these aren't just your average brown boot. The bright red color makes them stand out, and makes her outfit pop. You'd be amazed how many colors and styles cowboy boots can be found in! A bright boot can change an outfit from drab to fab quite easily - see the colorful collection below? Doesn't it just make you want to jump on the boot bandwagon? I know I'm crushing on that red pair, although even those light turquoise ones are calling my name.

Get Rachel's style boot here.

I even found a great match for my turquoise crush!

Have  little fun with your boot collection. Spring is finally here, and then comes summer - and the best thing about these boots is that you can wear them all year long! So why not add some pizazz to your wardrobe? Your closet's so boot-y-licious!

Celebrities love their cowboy boots!

by Sarah 9. April 2009 10:36

The great thing about cowboy boots is that they never go out of style. Originated way back when, this fabulous shoe style may be rocked today by country cuties Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, but if we dig back into our celebrity archive, we see that everyone from Kate Bosworth to Mary Kate Olsen has been spotted trolling around town in cowboy boots.

The history of cowboy boots traces all the way back to the times when horsemen wore them. They go all the way back to the 1800's! The style of cowboy boots caught on to be worn for leisure in 1954 because of Hollywood setting this trend. To this day cowboy boots are still worn by men and woman alike.

So how can you wear this western style shoe? In the summer time you can pair them with 'daisy duke shorts' - or a flowy peasant skirt if you are extra daring. In the colder months, cowboy boots look great when you tuck your jeans into them. For tops, I like to go with a plain tee, but if you want to look like the ultimate cowgirl wear a western style check shirt.

Another hurdle you have to go through when deciding what to wear with cowboy boots is what kind of belt to pair with it. My suggestion is to wear a western style belt. Also plain brown, or deep red belts work like a charm. Because the western style has been 'in' it is very easy to find westerny belts in stores so don’t worry if you don’t already own one.
